Lockheed Martin proposes New Zealand as site for RSAF jet training
Lockheed Martin, which is bidding to supply advance training jets to Singapore, has proposed that the training be carried out in New Zealand if selected.

Currently, Singapore trains its fighter pilots in France and Lockheed is proposing New Zealand's Ohakea air force base as a new site.

Lockheed Martin submits bid for Singapore's AJT tender
Korea Times reported that Lockheed Martin has submitted its bid to offer the T-50 for Singapore Advanced Jet Trainer competition.

Following its lost to the M346 in the United Arab Emirates competition, the South Koreans have decided to let Lockheed Martin take the lead in the project.

RoKAF chief visits Singapore to promote T-50
South Korean Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Lee Kye-hoon arrived in Singapore yesterday where he is suppose to help promote the T-50 jet trainer to the island.

Singapore has shortlisted the T-50 and M346 as candidates to replace its A-4SU jet trainer.

Senior defense officials from South Korea and Singapore will meet in Singapore tomorrow on the potential sale of the T-50 jet trainer to the island.

The T-50 is shortlisted together with the M346 as candidates to replace Singapore's TA-4SUs.

EXCLUSIVE: Singapore eliminates BAE Hawk from trainer contest
For the second time, the BAE System Hawk has been eliminated from a competition which its rival the M-346 and T50 also contested.

Flight International says Singapore has not short listed the aircraft to replace its TA-4SU.

Boeing and Finmeccanica to Pursue International Trainer Aircraft Market
Boeing and Alenia Aermacchi have joined hands on the marketing, sales, training and support of the M-346 and the M-311 jet trainers.

Il Sole 24 Ore reported that the agreement will limited to Singapore's AJT competition and could also involve Singapore Technologies.

Korea likely to sell supersonic jets to UAE, Greece, Singapore
Yoon Cha-young, executive director of the Korea Aerospace Industries Association, said Singapore, Greece, and the United Arab Emirates is likely to sign contracts to buy the T-50 trainer soon.

He said the UAE will likely procure more than 60 T-50s, while Singapore and Greece are considering buying 30 and 40 jets, respectively.

Singapore air chief eyes new fighter contest
The Republic of Singapore Air Force will start shopping for a new fighter to replace its F-5E/F fighter fleet.

The choice is between a second batch of F-15SG or the F-35. The island nation will also shortlist two companies to supply advanced jet trainers. A decision on the trainer will be decided in 2009.

Singapore issues advanced trainer RFI
A Request for Information has been issued for the Republic of Singapore Air Force's advanced jet trainer (AJT) competition.

Shortlisted candidates are Alenia Aermacchi M-346, Aviation Technology Group/Israel Aerospace Industries Mk30 Javelin, BAE Systems Hawk 128 and Korea Aerospace Industries T-50.
