Purchase of F-16 fighter jets from US `legitimate': official
Taiwan's Deputy Minister of National Defense Ko Cheng-heng attending the Sixth US-Taiwan Defense Industry Conference in Annapolis, Maryland on Monday said Taiwan has "urgent and legitimate" needs to buy F-16C/D fighters.
Ko said Taiwan needs to replace its aging fighters and Taiwan Relations Act stipulates that the US is permitted to provide Taiwan with defense weaponry.
