US denies giving Israel 'green light' to attack Iran; Saudis won't let Israel use its airspace
The White House has denied that it had given Israel the green light to attack Iran while the Saudis rejected media reports that Israeli jets can use its airspace during an attack on Iran.
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden had told ABC news that Israel had the "sovereign right" to attack Iran and claims Washington will not dictate how Israel handles Iran's nuclear ambitions.
But State Department spokesman Ian Kelly quickly denied that Biden's statement was a green light for Israel to attack Iran.
Separately, Britain's Sunday Times reported that the head of Mossad, Israel’s overseas intelligence service, has assured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that Saudi Arabia will not intercept any Israeli jets using Saudi airspace during an attack no Iran.
A spokesman for the Saudi foreign ministry, told AFP that report is not true.
