Karzai asks Kyrgyzstan not to evict Americans from Manas Air Base Afghan President Hamid Karzai is asking his Kyrgyz counterpart to keep the U.S. base at Manas open beyond August.

Kyrgyzstan’s parliament voted earlier this year to close the U.S. base at Manas.
