Boeing files protest with GAO over LM's win of GOES-R contract
The U.S. Government Accountability Office has received a protest from Boeing over a decision to award Lockheed Martin with a $1.1 billion contract for next-generation weather satellites.
"Based on the information that we received, we felt that we had a superior product under the disclosed evaluation criteria," Boeing spokeswoman Diana Ball told Reuters.
Lockheed Martin was given a contract by NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to build two Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite R-Series.
