Boeing may pull out of KC-X (Update)
Jim Albaugh told Wall Street Journal that Boeing may pull out of the KC-X competition if given less than six months to submit a new bid.
"I think the option we would have if we were not given the six months, there is a really high likelihood that we would no-bid the program," Mr. Albaugh said.
Boeing feels that the current 767-200 carries less fuel than what the Air Force wanted and coming up with a new plane will take more time.
According to Business Week, the move is advantageous to Boeing as the U.S. Congress will came to its aid.
Reuters added that Boeing might also seek to launch a second protest over what it sees as unfair new terms and conditions.
