Iraq and Afghanistan wars taking toll on RAF's ageing Hercules fleet
Britain's National Audit Office (NAO) disclosed in a report that there will be a shortage of C-130 transports in two years time.

"Given the likely high demand for military airlift in the future, plus the delays to the replacement European A400M aircraft, there is a significant risk that the armed forces will suffer shortages in transport aircraft from 2010 onwards," Edward Leigh, chairman of the Commons Public Accounts Committee said.
