Taiwan Approves $50 Billion Budget, Military Spending
Taiwan's Parliament has approved the government's defense budget this year, including NT$6.1 billion for 12 P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft.

It will also use NT$3.5 billion to upgrade its Patriot Advanced Capability-2 air defense missile system to PAC-3.

The legislature also froze one-third of the budget request for 66 F-16 Block 50/52 fighters. Legislators said that the rest would be released when the U.S. approved the sale.
