Japan is urged to consider F-35 jets
Kenneth Krieg, the U.S. under-secretary of defence for acquisition, technology and logistics, told the Financial Times that Japan should consider the F-35 instead of the F-22 for its fighter needs.

"I have supported the position that says the fifth-generation aircraft for an export market . . . is the Joint Strike Fighter and not the F-22," Krieg said.
