'Distant threats' push Israel to boost warplanes' range
Israel has started a program to improve its air-refueling capabilities, extending the range of its fighters and other aircraft.

One option being explored is to develop unmanned aerial vehicles into refueling tankers.

It could also convert U.S.-manufactured executive jets, such as the Gulfstream G550, into airborne refuelers.
