U.S. mulls possible delay in air tanker -sources
Three sources familiar with the USAF new aerial tanker competition said that the program could be delayed for two years.
While the current plan calls for the Air Force to issue a final request for proposals in December and pick the winning bidder next September. Sources say there is a proposal to fund development work on the refueling tanker by both teams of competitors for several years before awarding a contract in 2009.
