Navy defends Atsugi night landing practice
Eight Japanese politicians signed a letter protesting the U.S. Navy's plans to practice nighttime aircraft landings around Naval Air Facility Atsugi this week, calling the operation noisy and dangerous.
But the USN is defending its practice saying that the next alternative, Iwo Jima, is too far away.
