F-22 Maintainers Focus More On Avionics, Less On Engines
F-22 maintainers say that avionics takes up 70 percent of the workload compared to the F-15.
The plane's avionics self diagnostic helps maintainers pinpoint problems even before the pilots can. This also allow them to be able to replace specific components instead of an entire equipment set because of the accuracy.
