Yokosuka mayor now likely to accept U.S. nuclear flattop
Yokosuka Mayor Ryoichi Kabaya said his city would be willing to accept the deployment of the U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier George Washington in 2008.

Kabaya had earlier resisted the deployment but changed his mind after receiving a U.S. document providing a detailed explanation of the functions and safety of U.S. nuclear-powered warships.
