Old Hercules face axe
Boeing has powered up the first Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules to be modified under the Avionics Modernisation Programme (AMP) as the USAF considers retiring the C-130Es instead of upgrading.

82 out of the 170 C-130Es are either grounded or restricted because of centre wing-box cracks.

11 AMP test aircraft are planned with H models, Combat Talon special-operations variants and one E model.
