'Thunder Chickens' recognized for safety HMM-263 was awarded the 2005 Department of the Navy Safety Excellence Award for an active duty squadron.

The squadron had flew 10,600 mishap-free flying hours while under the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit in Iraq.
