India on mercy mission in Sri Lanka
India, while battling its own tsunami ravages, is assisting Sri Lanka in a big way to cope with the calamity. Six MI-17 Indian Air Force helicopters are performing ferry duties within the island, carrying provisions, medicines and drinking water to remote areas and evacuating stranded people to safety.
