Defence hole appears as new fighter lags behind
Australian defence planners have begun exploring options for leasing fighter jets to cover a looming gap in Australia's air defences, as the makers of the new joint strike fighter revealed they were 18 months behind. The F/A-18 Super Hornet is emerging as the favourite for such a role of an interim fighter jet.
