USMC General says base must be in Okinawa Lt. Gen. Keith Stalder, top U.S. Marine in the Pacific, said the Futenma Marine base on Okinawa cannot be moved off the island for strategic reasons.

"Okinawa is in the perfect place in the region," he said.
