Gripen seeks opportunities in Asia, Eastern Europe
Saab is hoping to sell its JAS-39 fighter to Asia and Eastern Europe to compensate its loss in Switzerland.
Saab Aeronautics chief Lennart Sindahl said in an interview he sees “major near-term opportunities” in Thailand, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia.
Sindahl also believes chances of success in Brazil is high. “Every day that nothing new comes from Brazil I think we have gained a little bit,” Sindahl said.
