Video: PLAAF J-10A makes safe landing after engine failure
A PLAAF J-10 fighter successfully made a forced landing after its sole engine failed while 7km from the runway on Mar. 7, China Central Television (CCTV) reported Sunday.

The pilot Li Feng, a deputy regiment commander, was on a training mission when warning lights cautioned him on possible engine troubles. He made a quick decision to return to base.

While 7 kilometers from the runway, the engine ceased working and Li glided the aircraft back to land. However, the hydraulics system lost pressure and the nose gear collapse after landing. The pitot tube, nose cone and engine inlet suffered minor damages.
