Measures target Northrop tanker contract
An amendment in the 2009 defense authorization bill calls for the KC-45 tanker to be build with 85 percent U.S. components.
This will make life difficult for Northrup Grumman/EADS as their tanker has only 60 percent American content.
Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates told Congress that any effort in Congress to limit the ability of foreign companies to bid on U.S. weapons projects would be met with economic retaliation overseas against American contractors.
