Alabama senator defends tanker decision
Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama defended the decision to let Northrop Grumman-EADS build refueling tanker aircraft for the U.S. Air Force. While Sen. Daniel Inouye of Hawaii said Congress should go slowly in reviewing the award.
Speaking to a Senate committee, Shelby, said the win add to American industrial strength, rather than detracting from it, as Boeing supporters have maintained.
"The proper thing to do is to wait until a decision is rendered" by the GAO, Inouye said
